on October 9, 2014 I received this beautiful letter that I want to share with you:
My name is Gaia Tortolina, and I am a 17 years old student of a language school.
I begun riding a bicycle when I was a child and I am now a cyclist at a competitive level since 12 years; my passion for the sport and my tenacity have enabled me to never give up, despite a recent series of bad results. It is so easy to say “bad luck” when close to the finish line and in the leading group, once the chain drops , another time a flat tire occurs or the girl in front of you falls involving you in her accident .
With dr. Fassina’s help, I realized that my real problem actually was not a bad luck, but my self-sabotage. In my subconscious mind I did not give myself the permission to win because I did not want to be visible! We have been working a lot on my fears and hidden dynamics, I have attended his seminars, especially the one on the Winning Temperament, and we still continue to work in order to improve my performances .
And I finally got my results: this year I achieved the 3rd place in the Team Time Trial Road Italian Championships in July
and the 2nd place in the Italian Track Cycling Championships in early October!
Since I begun my journey with Dr. Fassina I feel much more self aware, I’m sure that cycling is the way I want to run, and especially I see myself as a winner ! The thoughts of giving up do not belong to me anymore !
